The French building research authority is responsible for formalising the European directive that will eventually become part of French building regulations. First of all concerning the calculation method called RT2005.
This new method will be published later this year and will replace the RT2000 method that is used at present. The application of the RT2005 will become part of French building regulations before the European energy performance directive is enforced in 2006.
The only information available concerning the other articles of the Directive, is that the French Ministry for Industry and the Ministry for
Housing have launched studies concerning their application. The building trade organisations have also set-up discussion groups.
